Overview of Courses/Programmes of Activities Executed (1997 - October 2025)
From 1997 to October 2025, WAIFEM made a total of 1025 capacity building interventions in pursuit of its mandate. Of these events, 917 or 89.5 percent represents knowledge and skills upgrading through training courses / workshop / seminars while 108 or 10.5 percent represents missions (needs assessment and follow-up) and other capacity building-related activities, such as progress review meetings and impact assessment surveys/studies. A total of 28,877 participants benefited from the programme.
Of the total 28,877 participants that benefited from the programmes executed, Nigeria accounted for 10,432 or 36.1 percent, Ghana 5,778 or 20.0 percent, and The Gambia 4,306 or 14.9 percent. The number of participants from Sierra Leone was 3,951 or 13.7 percent of the attendees; socio-political situation in Liberia adversely influenced its low participation rate of 3,009 or 10.4 percent of the total. Non-regional participants began to take advantage of the existence of the Institute with them accounting for 1401 attendees or 4.9 percent (See Graphs and Table below for additional details).
