Overview of Courses/Programmes of Activities Executed (1997 - April 2026)
From 1997 to April 2026, WAIFEM made a total of 1044 capacity building interventions in pursuit of its mandate. Of these events, 936 or 90.0 percent represents knowledge and skills upgrading through training courses / workshop / seminars while 108 or 10.0 percent represents missions (needs assessment and follow-up) and other capacity building-related activities, such as progress review meetings and impact assessment surveys/studies. A total of 29,458 participants benefited from the programme.
Of the total 29,458 participants that benefited from the programmes executed, Nigeria accounted for 10,536 or 35.8 percent, Ghana 5,890 or 20.0 percent, and The Gambia 4,371 or 14.8 percent. The number of participants from Sierra Leone was 4,089 or 13.9 percent of the attendees; socio-political situation in Liberia adversely influenced its low participation rate of 3,151 or 10.7 percent of the total. Non-regional participants began to take advantage of the existence of the Institute with them accounting for 1421 attendees or 4.8 percent (See Graphs and Table below for additional details).
