Dr. Muhammad Tanimu Ibrahim is a Professional Accountant and Internal Auditor at the West African Institute for Financial and Economic Management. He joined WAIFEM as an Internal Auditor in September 2023, following a notable academic career at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, where he lectured and served in various academic and administrative capacities. During his tenure, he held roles such as Registration Officer, Examination Officer, and served as a committee member for accreditation and other academic matters.

Dr. Ibrahim holds a PhD in Accounting from Universiti Sains Malaysia. He also obtained an M.Sc. in Accounting from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, in 2017, and a B.Sc. in Accounting from University of Maiduguri in 2010. In addition, he earned a Diploma in Accounting from Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic in 2002 and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from National Teachers’ Institute, affiliated with National Open University of Nigeria.

He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Nigerian Institute of Management. His research interests include International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), audit quality, banking performance, and taxation. He has published several articles in reputable academic journals and has presented papers at both national and international conferences.

Dr. Ibrahim is married and blessed with children. He has also participated in over twenty professional workshops and training programs, further strengthening his expertise in auditing, financial reporting, and educational best practices.
